Founder James Powderly and co. were detained while planning a Students for a Free Tibet protest using GRL light graffiti technology.
GRL is an urban art collective dedicated to empowering graffiti artists with non-destructive methods of expression. They tag buildings using light not paint.

The Free Tibet Beijing stunt was particularly high profile, given the Chinese government's aversion to public protest. We're still waiting to hear on James' release and arrival home.

Very cool. I wonder if he added glue or something to make them stick to the walls. Magnets would only work on metallic surfaces...

Either way that's cool. I wonder how long the batteries last? LEDs don't really use much power (allot less than light bulbs, anyway...).
Do you think they could get a week or two out of those little things?
leds would way outlast the time it takes for someone to take em down. unfortunately.
